Worship: Coming Soon to Your Desktop... Vol. I No. 11
Nov. 1, 2006

A new site with much potential includes 24-hour live streaming Worship Network Christian TV, on-demand programs (not functional as yet), and a number of worship and classical music videos and books for sale. The Worship Network, a viewer-supported non-profit ministry, also announced in June a partnership with Word Records to create the next generation of accompaniment tracks, "Visual Tracks." Streaming internet TV is a concept right in its time, and we can expect it to mature and develop in content very quickly. Video is developing rapidly on the net, and general Christian and worship expressions will increasingly use technology to bring a worship experience to our desktops—corner box or screensaver...

Compare these Worship Leading Tips and Techniques with what you've learned over the years, and share them on the site by emailing your thoughts and ideas.

We're linking to one page of a few on the site—not extensive, but to the point and worth a quick look.

This is certainly not the most extensive site taking up the subject, but I've found over the months that sometimes the sheer amount of information on a sizable site discourages even beginning to look it over. If we didn't understand it before, we know what it means today (information overload).

I. PRIESTLY MINISTRY

    E. Steps of Preparation

“And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.” Exodus 40:12,13
  1. Bring them to the Door - Our first step in effective ministry to the Lord is coming to Him; In John 10:9, Jesus said, “I am the door.”
Exodus 29:20,21 tells how the “blood” was applied to the priests’ tip of the right ear, on the thumb of the right hand, and on the great toe of the right foot, consecrated to ministry; the person and ministry of the priest were under the power of the blood; his hearing, walk, and service might be blameless in the sight of the Lord.

  2. Wash them with water - cleansing power of God’s Word, and of water baptism.

  3. Put upon them holy garments -
    a. Isaiah 61:3 - garment of praise for spirit of heaviness.
    b. Ezekiel 44:15-19 - linen garments that don’t cause perspiration;
no smell of "flesh" in God's presence.

  4. Anoint him - anointing oil is type of Holy Spirit; speaks to us of a lifestyle of being “filled” with the Spirit; vital to our ministry to the Lord.

  5. Sanctify him - set apart from sin, to God to minister to Him.
This is a progressive work in us.
We are prepared as New Testament priests to minister to God, which is our first responsibility, offering up spiritual sacrifices (our praise, our “self”), learning to offer pure spiritual worship.

“One of the main reasons for the power failure today in the Christian Church is that Christians have failed to minister to the Lord. Biblically the evidence is that our ministry to the Lord must come before our ministry to men if we are to be effective. Even after being filled with the Holy Spirit, if our priorities regarding these two types of ministry are reversed, we will be helpless and impotent before the heathen world. We need to once again dig down in to the springs of God’s life and bury ourselves in Him, The Source. We need to be caught up in the wonder of the person of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, to know Him intimately and deeply: Then we will find that our ministry Godward will urge us manward with a new freshness and power, and then we will not only talk of God’s power, but will also see it demonstrated.”
Roxanne Brant, Ministering to the Lord (Florida: Roxanne Brant Crusades, 1973), p.7.
